Lady Rebels Win Bronze in Bluegrass State Games Flight

New coach Brook Wagoner and the Todd County Central Lady Rebels finished the Bluegrass State Games in Lexington on a strong note Sunday, winning three matches and claiming the bronze medal in the Fourth Flight.

The Lady Rebels opened play against John Hardin and claimed a three-set 21-19, 11-21, 15-6 victory.

Todd Central claimed another three-set win over Bullitt East in the second round, 21-16, 19-21, 17-16.

The Lady Rebels moved on to the semifinals of the flight with a 21-19, 21-18 win over Henry County.

Todd’s run at the Games came to an end with a 21-19, 21-17 loss to Graves County in the semifinals. Graves would defeat Greenup County in the gold medal match.

Todd Central opened play Friday at Henry Clay High School against Murray (18-12) and 9th District champs Owensboro Catholic (25-14), who advanced to the Third Region championship match last year.

Todd Central rallied for a 17-21, 21-2, 15-10 win over the Lady Tigers. They later dropped a 21-14, 21-8 contest to Owensboro Catholic.

In pool play on Saturday, the Lady Rebels went 0-3 against Great Crossing (21-12, 21-13), Adair County (21-13, 21-15), and 13th District rival Logan County (21-11, 21-18).

Todd Central finished the weekend with a 4-5 record. The Lady Rebels will play in a preseason scrimmage in Bowling Green on Saturday and will host McLean County on Tuesday, August 12.

The Lady Rebels open the 2025 season on August 19 at Muhlenberg County.
