With a new coach literally just taking over the program, the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors took to the volleyball court Friday evening for scrimmage action against New Covenant. The defending 2nd Region champions rolled through the varsity match, winning in straight sets.
The Lady Warriors took the opening set 25-9. HCA had an even stronger effort in the second set, pitching a shutout in a 25-0 win. The highlight of the set was Makenzie McCarty serving all 25 points for the Lady Warriors.
Heritage then closed out the match with a 15-10 win in the third set to complete the sweep.
The Lady Warriors are set to start defense of their 2nd Region title August 19 when they go on the road to Madisonville-North Hopkins.
