The high school football season is quickly approaching, which means it’s time for some teams to start scrimmaging and see what they’re made of. That is exactly what went down on Frida evening when the Falcons of Fort Campbell took on the Marshals of Marshall County.

The two teams started off doing 10 plays each on offense, where the Falcons were able to make some big highlight plays. Unfortunately, only one of those highlight plays was able to result in a touchdown. As for Marshall, they were able to score pretty much every time down the field, as their offense was on fire.

After each team giving their second units a chance to have some reps with 10 plays on offense, the two teams took a halftime break and then transitioned into playing a full half of real football.

Marshall County was able to keep their momentum on offense and score 35 points to Fort Campbell’s zero in the half of football that they played. But just because they were shut out does not mean that the Falcons were without some players that looked very solid.

Fort Campbell quarterback Tannar Walters finished the entire day with just under 100 passing yards, 19 of which were on an impressive touchdown pass to JaCaryous Perryman. He also had a solid day, finishing with 36 receiving yards, a touchdown, and some solid runs coming out of wildcat formation.

The Falcons will open their regular season against Northwest at Trigg County in the Wildcat Chevrolet Bowl on Friday, August 22. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
