After not scoring in a pair of preseason scrimmages against McCracken County and South Warren, the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm broke through in a big way in their season opener Monday night. The Lady Storm scored nine goals in just the first half as they rolled to a 9-0 road win at Union County.
The match ended at the half due to the 8-goal rule.
The win was the seventh in a row over the Bravettes for the Lady Storm, with the last five coming by shutout.
Eight different Lady Storm players found the net, led by Emma Vandiver, who had two goals and one assist.
Lily Armour, Jaci Childress, Mary Grace Starks, Riley Richardson, Destiny Caudill, Sydney McLemore, and Abi Greer, all had one goal each.
Armour and Starks had two assists each to lead Hopkins County Central.
Hopkins County Central (1-0) is back in action Tuesday evening in the home opener for the Lady Storm against Henderson County
