The Christian County Colonels soccer team started their season Monday evening at home against Franklin-Simpson, but they were not able to start their season with a 1-0 record.
Franklin-Simpson was able to score four goals in the first half of the game. Despite the Colonels holding their opponent to just two goals in the second half, they were unable to get any offense of their own going, losing the game 6-0. The team’s defense was able to have a much better second half, as goalie Preston Gentry finished the contest with 12 saves.
Christian County will be hoping that they can right the ship in their second game of the season against Caldwell County at home on Thursday, August 21. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
