The Trigg County Wildcats soccer team got their regular season started off on the right foot, as they were able to get the best of the Graves County Eagles and start the year 1-0.

Matthew Choate scored the first goal for the Wildcats about seven minutes in off of an assist from James Garnett. Garnett was then able to score a pair of goals for himself, the second of which was from a free kick that gave Trigg a 3-0 lead going into the half.

Graves was able to score eight minutes after coming back from halftime, but that was the only offense they were able to put up, as they ended up losing 3-1. Aside from that one goal allowed, Trigg’s defense played a very solid game, and goalie Cameron McCormick finished with eight saves.

The Wildcats will be looking to start a win streak to begin the season in their next game on Tuesday, August 19, against Muhlenberg County on the road. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
