Hopkinsville Soccer Gets First Win vs Fort Campbell (w/PHOTOS)

The Fort Campbell Falcons soccer team took on the Hopkinsville Tigers in their first game of the season, but it was the latter that was able to get their first win of the year on Tuesday evening.

The Tigers took a 3-2 lead into the halftime break and were able to score three more goals to secure the 6-3 victory. Jamiah Shanklin had two of the team’s goals, and Gavin Harton, Erick Hernandez, and Sebastien Klar scored one each.

As for the Falcons, two of the goals came in the first half, but then their offensive opportunities did not come as often in the second. Carlos Hermosillo had two of the team’s goals, and Miguel Oranday had the other. Despite the loss, goalie Jeremiah Brewer still had a solid day with 17 saves.

Fort Campbell will be looking to bounce back and get their first win of the season in their next game against Heritage Christian at University Heights on Tuesday, August 19. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

As for Hopkinsville, they will be hoping that they can begin a win streak in the early part of the season in their next game on Thursday, August 14, against Lyon County at home. Their game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
