Hopkinsville’s James Bradley Shows Athleticism Despite Loss to Mayfield (w/PHOTOS)

The Hopkinsville Tigers football team is getting closer and closer to the start of their regular season. And as such, that means they are scrimmaging other teams. On Thursday evening, their first of two scrimmages was against the Mayfield Cardinals, where a few of their players showed their talent.

The varsity unit might have lost the half that they played by a score of 14-0, but that does not mean that there were not bright spots. Hopkinsville quarterback James Bradley showed his ability to get it done with his legs with 61 rushing yards in just a half of play.

Running back Jeremiah Smith was also able to show flashes of what he can do with a couple of powerful runs.

The junior varsity won their portion of the game 8-0, and they also had some stars. Quarterback Jasiah McCarley connected with wide receiver Jonovan Leavell on a couple of big plays, including a two-point conversion.

The Tigers will be in action for their first game of the season on Friday, August 22, against Stratford at home. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
