The Hopkinsville Tigers football team took on the Murray Tigers in what was their second scrimmage Thursday evening, but it did not go the way that they would have hoped that it would.
Murray’s offense came out of the gates strong with a very quick rushing touchdown. They were then also able to recover a fumble by Hopkinsville and take it all the way back to their endzone. These key plays were a big part of the reason why they won the varsity segment of the game 28-0.
But that does not mean that Hopkinsville was without their good plays, as running back Tavares Burgess and quarterback Jasiah McCarley both had some pretty big plays where they flashed their talent.
Hopkinsville will be looking to get back on track before their first game of the regular season on Friday, August 22, against Stratford at home. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
