The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers could have used a few of the goals they scored Thursday night against Ohio County Saturday morning as they hit the road to Paducah Tilghman. The Lady Tigers’ defense limited Tilghman to just one goal but that was one more than the Lady Tigers finished with as the Lady Blue Tornado claimed a 1-0 win on their home field.
The game was a scoreless battle until about 10 minutes to go when Tilghman came up with the only goal of the contest.
It was the first win over Hopkinsville for the Lady Blue Tornado. The Lady Tigers had entered the match having won all 8 matchups between the two teams, five of them by shutout.
Hopkinsville got a big effort from Jaleigha McFarland in goal. McFarland finished the match with 14 saves.
The Lady Tigers (1-1) will be on the road again Thursday evening as they take on the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons.
