One night after an 8-0 mercy rule win over Lyon County in the All A Classic region quarterfinals, the Blazers took care of business on Tuesday with another 8-0 win, this time over Caldwell County at Givens Field.

The UHA win sets up a championship match with Fort Campbell on Thursday.

Cal Givens notched a hat trick and Lincoln Hauret assisted on three scores as the Blazers scored seven first-half goals. However, Caldwell’s defense, along with some nifty saves from Tiger goalie Grayson Harris, kept the Blazers off the board until the match’s 65th minute when Hauret found Jack Cavanah with a cross that Cavanah sent home with his left foot to trigger the eight-goal mercy rule.

The Blazers took control of the match early, scoring three times in the first 14 minutes. Hayden Hunt took a Hugh Sisk throw-in and sent a low laser into the goal in the eighth minute to open the scoring.

Three minutes later, Cal Givens scored his first goal as he rebounded a missed shot by Hunt for a 2-0 UHA lead.

Hunt would add his second goal in the 14th minute, heading in a perfectly placed corner kick from Hauret.

Givens had a hand in UHA’s next two goals, taking a pass from Hauret and sending in his second tally in the 18th minute and three minutes later feeding Cadence Gibson with a through ball that Gibson sent home for a 5-0 Blazer lead.

Hauret and Givens scored within a minute of each other late in the first half for a 7-0 advantage at the break.

UHA outshot Caldwell 20-2 in the first half and 30-4 for the match.

After entering the game late in the first half, Harris made five saves for Caldwell and only allowed the final goal of the match 25 minutes into the second half.

UHA (3-0) will play Fort Campbell on Thursday at 5:30 at Lee Jones Park in Eddyville.

Caldwell County (1-2) will return to Hopkinsville on Thursday to play Christian County outside of the Stadium of Champions.
