Lady Rockets Roll Up 9 Goals in All A Win at Lyon

Adri Berry had four goals and an assist as Crittenden County’s girls advanced in the 2nd Region All A Classic on Monday.

Ella Geary added two goals and three assists while Kylie Bloodworth added two goals and one assist as the Lady Rockets defeated host Lyon County 9-3 in a quarterfinal round matchup.

Crittenden (3-0) will return to Eddyville on Tuesday to face Caldwell County (2-0) in the semifinals. Those two teams are scheduled to play at 7:30, after University Heights Academy and Fort Campbell meet in the opener at 5:30.

The Lady Rockets never trailed against Lyon, but couldn’t totally shake the Lady Lyons until the second half.

Lyon (0-4) got on the scoreboard for the first time this season after being blanked in its first three matches.
Aliah Morgan found the net twice while Lyla Melton also scored for the Lady Lyons.

Crittenden scored the first two goals, with Geary setting up Berry in the 10th minute and Berry scoring again in the 13th minute.

Lyon’s first goal came in the 18th minute when Morgan ran onto a long ball and scored.

However, Hayden Peak answered for Crittenden by chipping one over the goalkeeper from the top of the box. That came in the 20th minute and made it a 3-1 game

Berry’s third goal came in the 21st minute when she got behind the defense, dribbled in and scored from in front of the net. That put Crittenden up 4-1.

Lyon came back in the 26th minute when Melton found the net to keep the Lady Lyons in the match at 4-2.

But the Lady Rockets scored twice in the final 2 minutes of the first half to get to the break with a 6-2 cushion.

Bloodworth scored in the 39th minute on a rebound after Berry’s shot hit the post.

Berry then tallied her fourth goal in the 40th minute, scoring from the top of the box to send the Lady Rockets to halftime with all of the momentum.

Bloodworth scored again in the 42nd minute, this time on a rebound off the keeper following a Geary shot.

Geary scored from the right side in the 54th minute to make it 8-2.

Morgan picked up her second goal for Lyon in the 70th minute when she finished in front.

Geary tallied the final score of the night in the 71st minute to extend Crittenden’s lead to 9-3.

Haley Moore had one assist for the Lady Rockets.

Macibelle Hardesty made 12 saves in the Crittenden net.

Richmond Herring made 13 stops for Lyon.
