Lady Rebels Give Coach Wagoner First Win with Sweep at Hopkins Central (w/PHOTOS)

New Todd County Central volleyball coach Brook Wagoner now has the first win of her Lady Rebel career. Coming off a straight set loss at Muhlenberg County, the Lady Rebels rebounded Thursday night by going on the road and taking a straight-set win over the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm.

The Lady Rebels opened fast, taking the first set 25-16. The second set was a back-and-forth battle, with the Lady Storm having their chances. However, it was Todd County Central pulling it out at the end 26-24 to go up two sets to none.

The Lady Rebels then made sure there would be no thoughts of a comeback as they closed out the match with a 25-11 win in the third set.

Aubri Penick and Allyssa Wofford had a big night on the attack for the Lady Rebels. Penick had 14 kills while Wofford added 10. Penick also had 6 aces.

Shelby Holderman set the table for her teammates, finishing the night with 24 assists.

For Hopkins County Central, Calajia Mason led the attack with six kills and Izzy Gunn added five.

Aalycia Stringer finished the night with four assists for the Lady Storm while Emma Frazier chipped in with three.

Todd County Central (1-1) travels to Allen County-Scottsville Saturday for the Lady Patriot Classic.

Hopkins County Central (1-2) hosts Hopkinsville Monday evening.
