There may have been some around the area that thought after their big post-season run last year, and the graduation losses they sustained in the wake, that the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons might be prime to endure some struggles on the pitch in 2025. Coach John Tichenor and his Lady Maroons are starting to say “just hold on a minute.”

Madisonville got a big morning from McKinley Wilson Saturday as the Lady Maroons cruised past the Christian County Lady Colonels 8-0 in Madisonville. The match ended due to the 8-goal rule with 23 minutes left in the match.

Wilson finished the day with three goals and one assist. Coroline Knight, Avery O’Brien, Hadley Hodges, Aletheia Golightly, and Sadie Littlepaige had one goal each.

Golightly also had two assists to lead the Lady Maroons.

NeZiyah Bell had 8 saves in goal for the Lady Colonels.

Madisonville-North Hopkins improves to 3-1 on the season and gets ready for a big home battle with South Warren Tuesday night.

Christian County falls to 0-3 and will make a tough trip Tuesday night to Henderson County.
