
Hopkinsville’s five golfers all finished within seven shots of each other at Saturday’s Christian County Invitational at Western Hills Golf Course.
That consistency produced a team score of 344, good for 14th place. place. The Tigers were three shots behind 13th-place Hopkins County Central and 27 shots ahead of 15th-place McLean County.
Sam Riggs had the low score for the Tigers with a 12 over par 84. Isaiah Wood shot an 86, and Henry Riggs and Matt Baker each shot an 87. Ryan Martin added a 91 for the Tigers.
Hopkinsville also had five golfers who are fairly new to the game, and put up scores, although they did not count toward its team total. JB Payne shot a 100, followed by Aiden Riley’s 112. Landyn Hollimon and Justin Brown each shot a 122, and Alex Naylor had a 127 for the Tigers.
