After a slow start to the season, the Lyon County Lady Lyons are turning things around.
The Lady Lyons opened the year 0-4 while being outscored 32-3.
However, over their last three games, Lyon’s girls have gone 2-0-1 and outscored their opponents 14-2.
That includes Monday’s 5-1 victory over 5th District foe Crittenden County at Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville.
Just one week earlier, the Lady Rockets had claimed a 9-3 win over Lyon on the same field in the 2nd Region All A Classic.
But Lyon (2-4-1 overall, 1-0 district) got two goals from Aliah Morgan while taking the rematch.
Lyla Melton, Nora Lucas and Karli Patterson each had one goal in the win while Chloe Gandee had an assist.
Crittenden (4-2, 0-1) got a goal from Adri Berry while Ella Geary picked up the assist.
Richmond Herring recorded 18 saves in the Lady Lyon net.
Macibelle Hardesty had nine stops for the Lady Rockets.
Lyon will next host University Heights Academy next Tuesday, Sept. 2.
Crittenden will entertain Trigg County for district action on Thursday.
