
The Christian County Lady Colonels volleyball team went into their game against Henderson County looking for their second-straight win, but they were not able to get it, as they lost three sets to one.
The first set was all Christian County, as they built up a 16-6 lead. It then continued to grow, until eventually they were able to take the set with a lopsided score of 25-10.
But Henderson was not going to go quietly, as they came back with a vengeance in the second set. Christian County built up an early lead of 7-2, but they couldn’t hold on to it, as Henderson was able to go on a seven-point run and take the lead 9-7. They continued this all the way until Henderson was able to take the set 25-16.
Christian County started the third set down 15-6, and Henderson’s lead continued to grow as the set went on. Christian was able to make a bit of a comeback and make it 23-20, but they eventually went down 25-21.
The fourth set started similar to the second, as Christian started out with a lead and then quickly lost it. Henderson built up a 18-12 lead, and was able to close it out and win the fourth and final set with a score of 25-18.
Christian County will be looking to bounce back in their next game on Tuesday, August 26, against the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Christian County High School.
