Coming off straight set losses to Whitefield Academy and Todd County Central, the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors were looking for a little positive mojo Tuesday evening. They got it, but it did not come easily.

HCA had to turn back a serious comeback attempt from the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons and picked up a four-set 8th District win.

For a while, it looked as if the Lady Warriors might make a short night of it. HCA took the opening set 25-12 and then rolled through the second set 25-10 to take a two sets to none lead in the match.

But give the Lady Falcons their due, they did not pack it up for the night and decided to make the Lady Warriors earn their way to the win.

Fort Campbell got some big moments from Ava Moore, Makayla Galvez, and Olivia Voelkel as the Lady Falcons battled back to take the third set and cut the match lead to two sets to one for Heritage Christian.

HCA fans had even more reason to be nervous after the Lady Falcons built a 21-15 lead in the fourth set, and it appeared things were headed for the all-deciding 5th set.

But this time, the Lady Warriors reached deep and found a way to come back and take the final set 25-23 and close out the match three sets to one.

With the win, Heritage Christian is now 5-3 on the season and gets ready to host Crittenden County on Thursday.

Fort Campbell goes to 2-1 with the loss. The Lady Falcons will travel to Kirkwood on Thursday night.
