Henderson County pulled away in the second half to claim a 7-0 victory at Caldwell County in boys’ soccer action Thursday night.
The Tigers, who have never beaten the Colonels in eight meetings all-time, battled Henderson to a 1-0 game over the first 40 minutes at Butler Stadium.
However, the Colonels (4-4) dictated play through the first half, but had trouble cracking Caldwell goalkeeper Grayson Harris, who made a myriad of saves to keep the Tigers in the contest.
But Caldwell (2-3) could generate few offensive chances against Henderson and struggled to match up with the Colonels’ overall team speed.
Alex Bowley finally broke through against Harris in the 27th minute, when Bowley caught Harris out of the net and simply passed the ball into the goal for the first score of the match.
It was the start of a huge night for Bowley, who finished the contest with five goals.
He had tallies in the 49th, 51st, 60th and 63rd minutes of the second half.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Black added a pair of second-half tallies as well as Henderson stretched the final margin to seven goals.
Boone Thompson, Owen Gillham, Zehn Hazelwood, Aaden Bugg and Jacopo Mazzini each recorded assists for the Colonels.
Caldwell will try to regroup on Tuesday when it hosts Hopkinsville.
