Lady Rebels Sweep Past Hopkinsville for 4th Straight Win

The Todd County Central Rebels are headed into this weekend’s 4th Region All A Classic on a bit of a roll. The Lady Rebels won their 4th straight match Thursday evening, picking up a straight-set road win against the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.

The opening set saw the Lady Tigers battle the Lady Rebels down to the final moments of the set before Todd County Central pulled out a 25-23 win to go up one set to none.

The Lady Rebels controlled the second set from beginning to end, cruising to a 25-13 win. Allyssa Wofford and Aubri Penick had a big set for the Lady Rebels.

Todd County Central looked to have things going its way in the third set, getting out to a 15-9 lead, but the Lady Tigers would not go quietly. Hopkinsville battled back to pull even at 18-18 and at 20-20, but it would be the Lady Rebels finding a way to pull it out late, taking the set 25-23 and closing out the match three sets to none.

Allyssa Wofford led the attack for the Lady Rebels with 12 kills, 5 digs, and 3 aces. Aubri Penick added 8 kills, 5 digs, and 5 service aces. Shelby Holderman ended up with 19 assists and 3 kills.

For Hopkinsville, Samyriah Walker, Lainey Stewart, and Madysen Taggart had three kills each. Alayna King ended the match with 9 assists. Kyleigh Weber led Hopkinsville with 7 digs.

Todd County Central (5-3) returns to the court Saturday in Elkton for the 4th Region All A Classic.

Hopkinsville (1-7) is back on the court next Thursday night at home against McLean County.
