High school soccer matches are normally 80 minutes long. Sometimes, things get resolved before the last of those minutes ticks off the clock. Such was the story Thursday evening between the Caldwell County Tigers and the Todd County Central Lady Rebels.
The Lady Tigers hit the Lady Rebels with a three-goal flurry in the opening eleven minutes of the match and controlled the night from there on the way to a 5-1 win in Elkton.
Caldwell County’s opening blitz appeared to set the Lady Rebels back on their heels, and they never got quite back on track after the opening moments.

Mariah Vickery found the net for the Lady Tigers just two minutes into the match to put Caldwell County in front 1-0. Just five minutes later, Ziva Falder extended the lead to 2-0 with her second goal of the season.
Kinlee Rowland capped off the quick start for Caldwell County with a goal at the 11:00 mark to make it 3-0.
The Lady Rebels temporarily staved off the tide with a goal at 19:30 from freshman Maggie Caprio that made it 3-1.
The final knockout blow came over a three minute span from 30:15 to 33:15 when Aliya Towns scored her 12th and 13th goals of the season to run the lead out to 5-1.

That would be the final scoring of the night for either team. Caldwell County controlled the flow of play most of the night. However, the Lady Rebel defense was able to shut down several scoring opportunities for the Lady Tigers.
Caldwell County (5-2) is back in action Tuesday night when they host the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.
Todd County Central (1-4) hosts Russellville in a 13th District contest in Elkton Tuesday night.
