After scoring just five goals in their first four matches of the 2025 soccer season, the Todd County Central Rebels appear to be finding their offense. The Rebels have now scored 20 goals in their last three matches after putting together a 9-4 win over Butler County Thursday night in Elkton.
The Bears actually scored first on a counter to take a 1-0 lead.
The Rebels responded quickly as Samuel Perez-Camillo sent a corner kick that Charlie Campbell headed into the back of the net to even things up at 1-1.
Spencer Pool found John Ross Cardwell on a cross a few minutes later to make it 2-1, and then Cardwell hit Charlie Campbell with a drop to the top of the box as the Rebels took a 3-1 lead that they would carry into the halftime break.
The Rebels came out rolling to start the second half. Just 13 seconds in, Carson Caracciolo hit a banger to the far post from the top of the box, and the Todd Central lead moved out to 4-1.
Butler County answered almost immediately, and then after some back and forth, Tyler Baker converted a penalty kick to get the lead back out to three goals at 5-2. Again, the Bears responded, cutting the lead to 5-3.
But the Rebel offense would not be slowed down on this night. John Ross Cardwell broke away and drove down the line and slid the ball out to Charlie Campbell, who found the net to make it 6-3. That momentum carried over to another Samuel Perez-Camillo corner kick that Spencer Pool headed in to give the Rebels a 7-3 lead.
Pool would score twice more, both goals coming off assists from John Ross Cardwell, as the lead grew to 9-3.
Butler County would add a late goal to get to the final five-goal margin.
Todd County Central improves to 3-4 with the win. The Rebels are off until next Thursday when they will host the Russellville Panthers.
