
Massac County scored a goal in the first eight minutes of the match and kept rolling from their Friday night as the Patriots picked up a 6-0 win over the Lyon County Lyons at Lee S. Jones Park.
Massac added four more goals in the opening half, one on a penalty kick, as the Patriots took a 5-0 lead into the break.
The Lyon County defense locked in during the second half and allowed just one more goal as Massac County took the win.
Joao Colares de Menezes and Colton Gobin had shots for the Lyons but could not get them to find the back of the net.
Goalie Justin Hicks had 13 saves on the night for Lyon County.
The Lyons drop to 0-7 for the season and will get back to action Tuesday night on the road at Hopkins County Central.
