
Freshman Kaleb Dunkley’s 15th-place finish led the Madisonville-North Hopkins runners at Saturday’s Madisonville Cross Country Classic held on the school’s campus.
Dunkley completed the 3.1-mile course in 19:42. His time was just 11 seconds off his personal best that he ran in last year’s region meet.
Dunkley is one of seven freshman runners to compete for the Maroons this season.
Trevor Fox came in 25th place, running a new personal best time of 20:21.
Connor Jernigan was 65th in 24:44, while Camden Crowley was 67th in 24:54.
Shad McDurmon, in his first year of running cross country, was 74th in 26:21, and Landon Blackburn was 75th in 27:07. Mason Dunbar rounded out the scoring for the Maroons with a 78th-place finish in 29:41.
Christian County’s Cayden Cline won the race in 17:23, while Paducah Tilghman took the team title with 51 points, 11 better than second-place Fort Campbell.
Madisonville finished in seventh place with 157 points.
