A busy weekend for the Christian County Lady Colonels as they took part in the annual Apollo Summer Slam Down in Owensboro.
The Lady Colonels began their weekend with matches Friday evening against Daviess County and West Jessamine.
It the match against Daviess County, it was the Lady Panthers taking a tough two-set battle 25-21 and 25-22.
Katie Cansler led Christian County with 7 kills. Carly Armstrong added 5. Ashlea Russell chipped in with 16 assists. Kadence Atwell had 3 service aces for the match.
Against West Jessamine, the Lady Colonels dropped a two-set decision 25-21 and 25-14.
Katie Cansler and Jazzy Tejada finished with three kills each. Ashlea Russell ended up with 7 assists. Shiloh Baker contributed one service ace and ten digs.
On Saturday, Christian County would face Allen County-Scottsville, Evansville Harrison, and Green County.
ACS ended up taking a three-set contest against the Lady Colonels by the scores of 18-25, 25-19, and 15-5.
Katie Cansler finished with six kills while Kadence Atwell added three. Atwell also had three service aces. Ashlea Russell ended up with 9 assists.
Christian County picked up a two-set win over Harrison, winning by the scores of 25-17 and 25-15.
