Whatever Trigg County Lady Wildcat coach Jason Hite said to his team at halftime Thursday evening, he might wanna bottle it up and save it for some future use down the road. Leading by just a single goal at the break, the Lady Wildcats scored seven goals in less than 20 minutes at the start of the second half to run away to a 10-2 win over the Christian County Lady Colonels at the Stadium of Champions.

The Lady Wildcats had run out to a quick 3-0 lead in the match less than 17 minutes in thanks to an early hat trick from Leiah Hite, and it looked as if Trigg County would make it a very short night.

However, Christian County reared up, and the Lady Wildcats appeared to lose some of their focus and drive over the remainder of the half as the Lady Colonels made a move to get back in the match.

Genesis McGee found the goal open as the Trigg County keeper came out of the goal in an attempt to make a play on the ball at 18:45 and Christian County cut the lead to 3-1. McGee scored again at the 28:00 mark to bring the Lady Colonels to within 3-2, and it felt as if every bit of momentum was suddenly wearing red and blue.

Then came the halftime discussion for the Trigg County Lady Wildcats, and things changed very quickly as the second half got rolling.

Maggie Wolfe, Addison Humphries, and Lydia Redd all scored goals in a 40 second span beginning at the 43:00 to blow the lead out to 6-2. The offensive explosion did not end there however.

Leiah Hite scored her 4th goal of the night to make it 7-2 at 45:40. She scored again at 52:20 to move it out to 8-2.

Kiylee Jones found the net at 55:50 and then the Lady Wildcats ended the match with a goal at 59:20.

After outshooting Christian County 8 to 5 in the first half, the Lady Colonels dominated the flow of play in the 20 minutes of the second half by making that difference 16 shots to none.

Trigg County improves to 6-2 with the win and will now get ready to go to Graves County on Monday.

Christian County falls to 1-5-1. The Lady Colonels will host the Lady Colonel Classic Saturday at the Stadium of Champions.
