It was a tough two-set battle, but the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors have moved on to the semifinals of the 2nd Region All A Classic volleyball tournament. The Lady Warriors advanced with a two sets to none win over the Caldwell County Lady Tigers Friday night in Hopkinsville.
Heritage Christian outlasted the Lady Tigers in the opening set 25-21. The second set was even more of a battle, coming down to the final plays as the Lady Warriors took a 25-23 win to complete the difficult two set sweep.
Bralee Fowler came up huge for HCA on the attack, finishing with 11 kills. Hadlee Hayes added 5. Makenzie McCarty ended up with 19 assists.
Heritage Christian now moves on to Saturday’s first semifinal match at 10am in Smithland as the Lady Warriors will take on the defending All A Region champions, the Crittenden County Lady Rockets. These two teams met in last season’s All A regional title match.
HCA and Crittenden County met August 28th with the Lady Warriors winning in straight sets, but all three sets came right down to the wire.
Heritage Christian improves to 7-4 with the win, while Caldwell County drops to 6-5 with the loss.
