
The Madisonville-North Hopkins girls bounced back from a rare 7th District loss on Tuesday to pick up a 4-0 victory at Caldwell County.
McKinley Jo Wilson had a pair of goals as the Lady Maroons improved to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in district play.
Madisonville fell to Hopkins County Central 3-0 on Tuesday. But the Lady Maroons put up three first-half goals against Caldwell and were well on their way to the district triumph.
Aletheia Golightly got the scoring started for Madisonville in the 13th minute, scoring on a long shot from outside the top of the box.
Two minutes later, Camree Young scored from almost the same spot as the Lady Maroons got out to a an early 2-0 lead.

Madisonville picked up some breathing room just before halftime. Wilson took a pass from Golightly and dribbled through traffic being unleashing a shot from well inside the box. That score came in the 38th minute and sent the Lady Maroons to the break with a 3-0 edge.
Wilson struck again early in the second half when Wilson got behind the defense, dribbled in and found the net.
Nevaeh Lindle picked up the shutout in the net for Madisonville.
The Lady Tigers were blanked for the first time this season while falling to 6-3 and 0-1.
The contest was halted for about 10 minutes after the lights went out on one side of the field. However, the teams decided to go ahead and finish the contest, playing the final 22 minutes with lights only on one side.

Caldwell has dropped seven straight matches to Madisonville. The Lady Maroons lead the all-time series 33-9-1.
Madisonville’s girls will play two games Saturday in the Lady Colonel Classic at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville, facing both North Hardin and Franklin-Simpson.
