The Lyon County and Heritage Christian Academy soccer teams both went into their matchup on Thursday evening looking for their first win of the season. But it was the Lyons that were able to complete their mission and finally get in the win column.

Not only did they get their first win, they did it by way of the mercy rule, as they were able to end the game 9-1. Kamden Garrie had three goals over the course of the game, one of which came as a result of an own goal. Joao Colares de Menezes had two goals, while Boston Mullen, Grady Walker, Colton Gobin, and Jason Rowan each had a goal apiece.

As for the Falcons, their one goal came from senior Kallan Davis. Their goalkeeper, Cayden Nowak, also had 10 saves in net.

HCA will be hoping that they can get their first win of the season in their next game on Friday, September 5, against the Blazers of University Heights Academy on the road. Their game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

When it comes to the Lyons, they will be looking to start a win streak in their next game against Trigg County on Tuesday, September 9. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville, KY.
