Former Todd County Central head coach Josh Robins and his Butler County Bears celebrated Homecoming in dominant fashion with a 52-0 victory over Todd County Central Friday night.
The Bears, now 3-0 on the season, set the tone on their opening possession. After returning the kickoff to their own 39-yard line, they needed just two plays to score. Kaiden Richardson ripped off a 26-yard run, followed by a 35-yard touchdown pass from freshman quarterback Brody Dockery to Carson Davis.
Heavy rain soon moved into Morgantown, and both teams struggled with the wet football. In a sloppy nine-minute span, the squads exchanged fumbles, and – after Todd Central went three-and-out and punted it back to Butler, the two teams exchanged fumbles once again.
This time, as they would throughout the night, the Bears capitalized. Dockery capped off the Bears’ drive as he scooped up a bad snap and scrambled in from two yards out. The PAT made it 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Todd Central’s misfortunes continued. After gaining just three yards in three plays, punter Eli Morgan fielded a bad snap and tried to run for the first down but was stopped short turning the ball back over to Butler County on downs.
On the very next play, Dockery and Davis connected again, this time for a 26-yard score. The PAT missed, but Butler led 20-0.
A 45-minute lightning delay interrupted the next Rebel possession. After the break, Todd Central managed one first down before punting. The Bears then capped another drive with Dockery and Davis’s third touchdown hookup of the night. Dockery’s two-point try failed, sending the game to halftime at 26-0.

Dockery finished 7-of-10 passing for 128 yards and four touchdowns. Davis had four receptions for 80 yards and three scores.
The third quarter became the “Kaiden Richardson Show.” The sophomore, who rushed unofficially for 223 yards on 14 carries, scored three different ways: a 49-yard interception return, an eight-yard reception from Dockery, and an 80-yard breakaway run. His touchdown catch, and the ensuing PAT, made it 39-0, triggering a running clock. His long run, with 12 seconds left in the quarter, pushed the margin to 45-0.
The Bears added one more score in the fourth quarter when Kevin Robins—who played for his father as a freshman at Todd Central—broke free for a 40-yard touchdown run. The PAT sealed the 52-0 final.

One key was Butler’s ability to generate what are known as “chunk plays” in which the offense gains 20 or more yards. The Bears had eight; the Rebels had none.
Penalties also told the story. Todd Central was flagged 10 times for 74 yards, while Butler had just one for 15 yards.
Todd County Central looks to get back into the win column next week as they host Jo Byrns at 7 p.m. on Homecoming.
