The Christian County Lady Colonels completed a perfect day Saturday at the Lady Colonel Classic with a win over McLean County. The Lady Colonels had three different players score as they took a 3-1 win over the Lady Cougars.

Earlier in the day, Christian County had blanked the Warren Central Lady Dragons 2-0.

Against the Lady Cougars, the Lady Colonels were the beneficiary of a hand ball call in the box in the opening minutes of the match. Jayleigh Campbell drilled the PK and Christian County was up 1-0.

Both teams played tight defense for the remainder of the half, and neither scored after the PK in the opening 40 minutes.

Nora Westerfield scored her second goal of the day just 1:30 into the second half to extend the Christian County lead out to 2-0.

Hannah Smith got the Lady Cougars on the board when she put in a rebound of a missed shot at the 65:00 mark to put McLean County back into the thick of the match.

But that would be it for a comeback and Christian County got a late game goal from Carliah Hobson to salt the match away.

Christian County moves to 3-5-1 with the win. The Lady Colonels are set to go on the road to Caldwell County Tuesday night.
