Hopkinsville’s James Bradley, Jr. opened the game with a 62-yard scoring run on the first play from scrimmage and the Tigers never looked back on the way to a 55-0 victory over Prosser, IL on Saturday at the Stadium of Champions.
A week after surrendering 328 yards on the ground in a loss to Madisonville-North Hopkins, the Tiger defense pitched a shutout while holding Prosser to only six yards on 22 rushing attempts and less than 100 yards total offense.
Bradley, Jr. collected almost half of his 132 yards rushing on the Tigers’ first score, and after a blocked punt and an Xzavion Panapa scoop and score, Hopkinsville led 13-0 with less than two minutes played.

Bradley, Jr. was back in the endzone on a 13-yard run with just over six minutes left in the opening quarter. Sophomore quarterback Jasiah McCarley got in on the act with a 59-yard scoring connection to Tremayne Clay ahead of Bradley, Jr.’s third rushing touchdown of the day.
With 5:24 left in the half, the Tigers triggered a running clock when Bradley, Jr. stepped in front of a pass from Prosser’s JQ Collins and rumbled 78 yards down the sideline for a 41-0 halftime advantage.

McCarley’s 7-yard TD run up the middle was the only score of the third quarter, and Jyariyn Wilson capped the scoring with a 12-yard run around the left side with 6:35 left. Prosser threatened to spoil the shutout in the final seconds after a long gain down to the Hoptown 23, but Kyrien Cannon ended the game with the Tigers’ second interception.
Hopkinsville held a 17-4 advantage in 1st downs, and racked up 373 total yards on 33 plays. The Tigers rushed for 252 yards, including 132 for Bradley, Jr., and McCarley completed four passes for 111 yards and a score.
Hoptown improved to 2-1 ahead of a short trip to Trigg County next week. The teams haven’t met since 2013 when the Wildcats pulled out a 41-35 overtime victory.
