After a disappointing loss in their first game in the Lady Colonel Classic Saturday, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers responded Saturday afternoon by cruising past Warren Central 10-0.
The Lady Tigers, who had been shutout in a loss to North Hardin earlier in the day, got on the board early in this one. Lauren Jones scored off a penalty kick at 7:15 to put Hopkinsville up 1-0 and the Lady Tigers were off and running.
Over a ten minute span from 16:00 to 26:00, the Lady Tigers scored five times to blow the lead out to 6-0. During that stretch, Hopkinsville got two goals each from Kaydon Coats and Kaylyn Burgess Lynch and one goal from Kila Cherry.

Over the remainder of the first half, Hopkinsville kept the pedal down, scoring four more times by the end of the half. The Lady Tigers got two more goals from Coats, one more from Burgess Lynch, and a goal from Yadira Idrogo to get to a halftime lead of 10-0 which brought the match to an end due to the 8-goal mercy rule.
Hopkinsville (5-6) goes on the road Monday to take on Calloway County.
