
Cayden Cline followed up his win at the Madisonville Invitational with a second-place finish on Saturday at the Hopkins County Central Storm Invitational just outside of Mortons Gap.
The Christian County sophomore completed the 3.1-mile course in 17:27, which was 18 seconds behind the race winner Thomas Davis of Union County. Cline’s time was just four seconds off his personal best time run the previous week in winning the Madisonville Invitational.
Ethan Cooper was the only other Colonel to run the race. The junior finished in 89th place in his first-ever cross country race in a time of 26:33.
Meanwhile, for the girls, freshman Aubree Cline finished in 51st place in 31:02, and Mia Castillo was 58th in a personal best time of 32:17.
