
A pair of top 20 finishes paced Hopkins County Central to a fourth-place finish at its own invitational on Saturday.
Sam Martin was the first Hopkins Central runner across the finish line in 13th place with a time of 19 minutes flat, missing a personal best time by 13 seconds.
Sophomore Landon Posey came in 16th place with a time of 19:23 in his first race of the season.
Kaiden Devargas finished in 37th place with a time of 20:35, while Alex Ray was 46th in 21:23 and Jaxon Adcock was 47th in 21:24.
Dominic Vignone was 56th in 22:19, Nolan Ray was 79th and 24:33, and Duncan Spiers was 91st in 27:25.
Union County’s Thomas Davis won the race with a time of 17:09. Hopkins Central totaled 119 points to finish 16 points behind third-place Henderson County. Warren East edged Muhlenberg County by 14 points to win the team title.
