Caldwell County’s girls got the offense going again Tuesday night and rolled past Christian County 8-1 at Butler Stadium in Princeton.

The Lady Tigers had been shut out in losses to Madisonville-North Hopkins and Henderson County, and fell behind Christian County 1-0 early.

But Caldwell got to halftime with a 3-1 lead, then scored five times in the second half to put the match away.

Nunie Bates had a hat trick and two assists in the victory as the Lady Tigers improved to 7-4 on the season.

Kiya Sears and Aliya Towns each found the net twice while Ziva Falder added one goal.

The visiting Lady Colonels (3-6) went up 1-0 just 5 minutes into the contest when Carliah Hobson got behind the defense for a goal.

However, Caldwell dominated possession for most of the rest of the night.

Sears tied things in the 8th minute with a blast into the right side of the net from inside the box.

Bates put the Lady Tigers in front in the 10th minute, taking advantage of a Christian turnover and burying a shot from 20 yards out.

Towns got help from Falder in the 33rd minute to send Caldwell to halftime with a 3-1 edge.

All of Caldwell’s scoring in the second half came in the final 17 minutes to stretch out the final margin.

Towns had an unassisted goal, then picked up an assist on a goal by Bates to make it 5-1 in the 65th minute.

Sears and Bates had unassisted goals, then Falder scored with help from Bates to extend the lead to 8-1.

Shylee Hinchee needed to make just three stops in the Caldwell net.
