While they did not get the match win Tuesday night, a youthful Heritage Christian Academy volleyball team appears to be maturing and developing at an accelerated rate. In their final tuneup before the start of the All A Classic state tournament Friday night, the Lady Warriors went on the road and took on perennial region contender Henderson County.
The Lady Colonels picked up the win, but had to battle the Lady Warriors through four sets to get there.
Henderson came out fast and took the opening set 25-15 to go up one set to none.
The Lady Warriors came right back and won the second set 25-22 to even the match up at one set each.
The third set belonged to the Lady Colonels, as Henderson County claimed a 25-18 win to go up two sets to one.
HCA was in position to force an all-deciding fifth set but just missed out as Henderson closed out the match with a 25-21 win in the fourth set.
Heritage Christian (10-5) now heads off to Owensboro Friday night for the All A Classic. The Lady Warriors will open play taking on Williamsburg at 6:45 at the Owensboro Convention Center.
