Caldwell Hits Season High Mark in 9-3 Win over Crittenden

Caldwell County’s girls reached a season-high for goals in a game with a 9-3 triumph over Crittenden County Thursday night at Butler Stadium in Princeton.

The Lady Tigers kept their unbeaten streak alive againt the Lady Rockets. Caldwell is now 32-0-1 all-time against Crittenden. The one draw came in the 2022 season.

Aliya Towns and Kinlee Rowland each scored four goals for the Lady Tigers (8-4), who defeated Crittenden for the second time this season.

Rowland had the first two goals of the night — in the 1st and 7th minutes, then Towns picked her first in the 8th minute as Caldwell ran out to a 3-0 lead.

Ella Geary scored all three goals for Crittenden, which is 6-5.

Geary’s first goal in the 23rd minute made it a 3-1 game.

Towns countered with back-to-back goals in the 32nd and 33rd minutes.

Geary scored again in the 35th minute as the Lady Rockets remained within 5-2 at halftime.

Mariah Vickery finished in front following a corner kick in the 51st minute to put Caldwell up 6-2.

Towns scored again in the 64th minute.

Rowland scored in the 62nd and 69th minutes as the Lady Tigers built a 9-2 advantage.

Geary concluded her hat trick for Crittenden when she got her third goal in the 75th minute.

Towns added one assist in the contest while Vickery, Ziva Falder, Nunie Bates and Paisley Hooks each had an assist as well for the Lady Tigers.

Shylee Hinchee had three saves for Caldwell.

Macibelle Hardesty tallied 11 saves for Crittenden.

Picking up assists for the Lady Rockets were Kylie Bloodworth and Haley Moore.

After suffering back-to-back shutout losses to Madisonville-North Hopkins and Henderson County, Caldwell has now scored 17 goals in consecutive wins over Christian County and Crittenden County.

The Lady Tigers have an important 7th District date coming up Monday at Hopkins County Central (10-1). The Lady Storm looks like the best team in the district this season and expects to challenge for the 2nd Region championship.

Crittenden will host Muhlenberg County on Tuesday for Senior Night.
