
A lengthy five-set 8th District battle Thursday night on post between the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons and the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers. It came down to the final points in the fifth set before the Lady Falcons could claim the three sets to two win.
Hopkinsville opened the night by taking the first set 26-24. Fort Campbell came back to even things up at one set each by taking the second 25-15.
The Lady Falcons carried that momentum over into the third set, winning 25-20 to go up two sets to one.
With their backs against the wall, the Lady Tigers came fighting back. Hopkinsville won the fourth set 25-22 to force the all-deciding fifth set.
The fifth was back and forth and went to extra points before the Lady Falcons were finally able to claim the win 17-15 to take the match three sets to two.
Another big match for Hopkinsville’s Madysen Taggart, who ended up with 11 kills, 4 blocks, 5 digs, and 5 service aces. Alayna King contributed 14 assists, 8 digs, and 3 service aces.
Fort Campbell improves to 7-2 with the win and heads off to Paducah Tilghman Tuesday night.
Hopkinsville drops to 2-9 and will make a Monday night trip to Elkton to take on Todd County Central.
