The Fort Campbell Falcons football team was looking for their second straight win in their game on Friday night against the Hopkins County Central Storm, and they were able to get it with a final score of 36-16.

The scoring started when the Storm snapped a ball out of the end zone, resulting in a safety and a 2-0 lead to start the game for the Falcons. The first touchdown of the game came from Fort Campbell’s running back, Keshawn Dixon, who caught a 43-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tanner Walters.

Hopkins Central was able to answer right back with a touchdown of their own from a quarterback scramble by Sylas Gunn. And to end the scoring in the first quarter, the Falcons had a bad snap of their own that resulted in a safety, giving them just a 9-8 lead.

Both teams were able to score passing touchdowns in the second quarter, but it was the third and fourth quarters where Fort Campbell really shined.

Dixon was able to score three more touchdowns, giving him a very impressive stat line of 17 carries for 240 yards on the ground and four touchdowns.

The nail in the coffin for the Storm could have been the 24 penalties that got called on them over the course of the game, resulting in a whopping 200 penalty yards.

They will be looking to fix that and right the ship in their next game on Friday, September 19, against Kentucky Country Day. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Hopkins County Central.

As for the Falcons, they will hope to extend their win streak to three games in their next one against the Rebels of Todd County Central, also on September 19. Kickoff of that game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Fryar Stadium.
