A year ago, limited numbers and abundant injuries forced Owensboro Catholic to punt on its varsity season and play a junior varsity schedule, waiting for the arrival of a large and talented freshman class this season.
The result was Todd County Central winning the All A sectional when Owensboro Catholic didn’t field a team, snapping a successful run for the Lady Aces that saw them win three All A state titles.

Owensboro Catholic rejoined the varsity ranks in 2025, thanks to a roster that includes 10 freshmen. The Lady Aces improved to 7-4 with an 8-0 Mercy rule win over Todd Central on Saturday in Elkton, advancing OCath back to next weekend’s All A Classic quarterfinals in Louisville.
Five Lady Aces — Allie Marston, Meredith Traylor, Chloe Martston, Carly Murphy, and Scarlett Isenbarger — scored in the first half to give them a 5-0 lead at intermission.
Three more goals in the first 14 minutes of the second half sealed the win.
The Lady Rebels (5-5) have two district matches coming up in the next 10 days, starting with Franklin-Simpson on Tuesday in Elkton.
