Other than in an 8-2 loss to Marshall County, the UHA Lady Blazers’ defense has been a force on the soccer pitch this season. Nothing about that changed Monday evening.
The Lady Blazers scored five first half goals and the defense pitched a shutout as UHA picked up an 8-0 mercy rule win over the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons at Givens Field.
UHA got rolling early against the Lady Falcons. Kendall Hancock scored off an assist from Audrey Perry just over 7 minutes into the first half as the Lady Blazers went up 1-0. Perry got her second assist at the 18:22 when Skylar Cantrell found the net to make it 2-0.
Hancock got her second goal and Perry her third assist at 28:02 to extend it to 3-0. Less than a minute later, the same pairing, with the same result as the lead grew to 4-0.
UHA closed out the half at 33:52 when the duo did it again to make it a 5-0 match.
The Lady Blazers added three goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half to close out the match.
A big night for Audrey Perry, who assisted on all 8 goals for the Lady Blazers. She now has 25 assists for the season.
Her 8 assists could be a state record, however, the KHSAA record book has not been updated since May 2023, so two seasons of soccer are missing from the compiled records.
Kendall Hancock scored four times, giving her 28 goals for the season.
In goal, Madison Williams finished with 3 saves.
UHA improves to 9-1-1 and gets ready to go to the Stadium of Champions Thursday night to take on Christian County.
Fort Campbell drops to 4-6 with the loss. The Lady Falcons are off until Saturday when they go on the road to take on Fort Knox.
