The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers will end their regular season series against the Christian County Lady Colonels on the soccer pitch having won the last five regular season contests between the two programs. Playing for the final time ever in the regular season due to the upcoming merger of the two schools, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers got a hat trick from Kaydon Coats and took a 7-2 win Tuesday night at the Stadium of Champions.
While it was the final regular season contest between the two, there is a chance they could meet again in the 8th District tournament.

Hopkinsville got on the board first Tuesday night when Kaydon Coats scored at the 12:15 mark to give the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead. That goal would kick off a scoring frenzy for the two teams over the next eight minutes.
Carliah Hobson pulled the Lady Colonels even with a goal at 13:34.
Hopkinsville got the lead right back when Kaylyn Burgess Lynch found the back of the net to make it 2-1. Just over two minutes later Kaydon Coats deflected one in off the left goalpost to extend the margin to 3-1.
Lila Jorgensen scored her first goal of the season at 18:35 when she chested in a corner kick, making it a 4-1 match.
Jayleigh Campbell slowed down the Hopkinsville momentum briefly with a goal at 20:00 to cut the lead to 4-2.

Azaa Enkhtugs and Jorgensen scored goals over the final 20 minutes of the half to extend the lead to 6-2 going into the break.
The pace of scoring came to a crawl in the second half as Kaydon Coats scored a rebound of a missed goal at 47:00, giving the Lady Tigers a 7-2 lead. That would be the only goal for either team in the second half.
Hopkinsville improves to 6-7 with the win. The Lady Tigers go on the road Thursday to take on Franklin-Simpson.
Christian County drops to 3-8-1. The Lady Colonels are back in action Thursday when they host University Heights in an 8th District contest.
