Hopkinsville Bests Christian County in Final Regular Season Meeting

The Christian County Colonels and Hopkinsville Tigers soccer teams faced off for the last time on Thursday evening before the schools merge, and it was the latter that was able to get the final win.

Hopkinsville was able to score eight goals over the course of the game, and they were scored by five different players. This came as a result of the team passing the ball around and giving everyone opportunities.

Jason Macario, Alex Rameirez, and Erick Hernandez all had two goals apiece, while Rayan Bernal and Anthony Evangelista had one goal apiece. All of these scores added up to give the team an 8-0 mercy rule.

As for the team’s defenses, Preston Gentry had seven saves in net for the Colonels, while Raul Rivera had one save for the Tigers.

Hopkinsville will be looking for their third straight win in their next game on Saturday, September 20, against Logan County. The game is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.

As for the Colonels, they will be hoping to bounce back in their next one against Muhlenberg County on Monday, September 22. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Stadium of Champions soccer fields.
