
A tough weekend for the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors in Paducah. HCA was among the teams competing in the Quad State Tournament at the Paducah Convention Center and finished with a 1-4 slate for the event.
Friday night saw the Lady Warriors pick up a two set win over the Bullitt Central Lady Cougars. HCA won the opening set 25-20 and then closed out the match with a 25-23 win in the second.
Heritage Christian also faced a team Friday that is rapidly positioning itself as a regional contender, that being the Webster County Lady Trojans. Webster took the first set 25-21. The Lady Warriors then forced a third set with a hard-fought 26-24 win in the second. The Lady Trojans then claimed the match by winning the third 15-12.
The results of pool play Friday night put HCA in the silver bracket on Saturday.
On Saturday, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons continued to be a thorn in the side of the Lady Warriors, taking a two set match 26-24 and 25-19.
HCA also dropped a two-set decision to 8th District rival Christian County. The Lady Colonels won the first set 25-20 and then closed out the match 25-22.
Carlisle County also knocked off the Lady Warriors in straight sets. The Lady Comets took the opening set 25-21 and then completed the sweep by taking the second 25-18.
HCA will get back to the court Tuesday on the road at Fort Campbell.
