
The Caldwell County Lady Tiger volleyball team turned in a 2-3 showing in action at the Quad State 2025 tournament this weekend at the Paducah Convention Center.
The Lady Tigers dropped their first two matches on Friday, falling to Carlisle County 18-25, 27-26, 15-6, then bowing to Ohio County 26-27, 25-8, 15-10.
Chevy McGowan had five kills, four digs and two aces against Carlisle while Med Thomas recorded three kills and a block.
Kylee White had three kills, 13 assists, eigth digs and two aces. Troy Freeman had two kills and a block. Maddie Cooper led the Lady Tigers with 14 digs.
McGowan totaled nine kills and seven digs against Ohio. Thomas and Sophie P’Pool each had three kills in that match.
White tallied two kills, 14 assists and five digs. Freeman had two kills and a block. Cooper recorded six digs.
Caldwell returned on Saturday and picked up wins over Hopkins County Central and Hopkinsville.
The Lady Tigers bested the Lady Storm 25-18, 25-15.
McGowan recorded eight kills and three digs. Alaiyaa Shearer had six kills and a block.
White had three kills, 20 assists, seven aces and two digs. Grace Watson tallied two kills and a block. Mycah Riddle led the team with 10 digs.
The Lady Tigers rallied from a first-set loss to defeat Hopkinsville 23-25, 25-20, 16-14.
McGowan led the attack in that match with nine kills, three digs and two aces. Shearer recorded six kills and a block.
Watson had four kills and three blocks while Freeman had four kills and one block. Thomas tallied three kills. White had a kill and 24 assists.
Caldwell’s only loss on Saturday came to Bullitt Central, 23-25, 25-21, 15-9.
McGowan had six kills and four digs while Thomas had six kills and three digs.
Shearer had three kills and Watson added two kills. White recorded a kill, 19 assists, seven digs and four aces. Riddle had a kill and 11 digs.
Caldwell’s girls are now 9-10.
They will try to climb back up to the .500 mark on Tuesday when they host Livingston Central (5-8).
