With the regular season starting to wind down, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers had the chance to get in some competition against several teams over the weekend at the Quad State Tournament in Paducah. The Lady Tigers finished their weekend at 1-4.
In pool play Friday night, Hopkinsville was in a pool with two region contenders, that being McCracken County and Logan County.
In the match against McCracken, the Lady Tigers could never find their footing, losing the opening set 25-9 and then falling 25-8.
The Logan County match was almost a carbon copy of the McCracken match in how it played out, with Logan County winning 25-9 and 25-8.

In the bronze bracket Saturday morning, Hopkinsville opened against UHA. The Lady Tigers took the opening set 25-19, before the Lady Blazers came back 25-14 and 15-8 to take the match.
Another regional opponent for Hopkinsville was up next, with Caldwell County on the agenda. Again, Hopkinsville took the opening set, this time in a down to the wire battle, 25-23. Caldwell County came clawing back and won the next two sets, 25-20 and 16-14 to take the match two sets to one.
Against Hopkins County Central, it went in reverse order. This time it was the Lady Storm taking the opening set 25-22 before the Lady Tigers came fighting back to win the next two 25-19 and 15-12 to claim their first win of the weekend, two sets to one.
Hopkinsville will be back in action Tuesday, when the Lady Tigers host Trigg County.
