Lyon County junior Brenna Breitrick has earned a berth in the State First Round next week.
Breitrick shot a 19-over-par 91 on a difficult course at Rolling Hills Country Club in Paducah in the girls’ Region 1 Tournament on Monday.
Weather conditions were difficult early on, as most of the field saw some rain during their rounds. The wet conditions resulted in lift, clean and place rules being in effect, and players were allowed to lay out of bunkers.
Breitrick, who tied for 15th individually, shot a 47 on the front side and a 44 on the back nine.
Two other Lady Lyons were also on the course for the regional tourney.
Jenna Coursey tied for 21st at 102.
Carmen Phillips was 23rd at 103.
Marshall County’s Trinity Beth captured medalist honors with a 6-under 66.
Ballard Memorial’s Madison Glisson was runner-up at 2-under 70.
The Lady Marshals won the team competition at 304. McCracken County was a distant runner-up at 358.
The State First Round will be played next Monday at Calvert City Country Club.
