
Union County brought home a top-five finish at Monday’s Region Two golf tournament held at the Henderson Country Club.
The Bravettes finished 10 shots behind 4th-place University Heights Academy and 40 shots behind 3rd-place Ohio County.
Union County will send one golfer to the state first round as Raegan Pinkston tied for 15th place with a 16 over par 88. Her day included 10 pars.
Pinkston will compete in the state first round next week at the Calvert City Country Club.
Lilly Moman and Elizabeth Hancock each tied for 25th place with a round of 95.
They missed advancing to the state first round by 7 shots.
Maycee Gray finished 29th with a round of 99, and Kinlee Kitchen was 30th with a round of 101.
Henderson County’s Meryl Grogan shot a one-under-par 71 to win the individual title by one shot over Daviess County’s Claire Reynolds.
The start of Monday’s match was delayed four hours due to heavy rain and lightning. The golfers got in just over three hours on the course before a nearly one-hour delay halted play just after the golfers made the turn around 3:40.
Play wrapped up just before seven o’clock as another storm rolled through the Henderson area.
