Former Lyon County standout Cathryn Brown was crowned champion The Johnie Imes Invitational at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Missouri.
It’s the first collegiate championship for the University of Kentucky junior.
Following a 2-hour weather delay, the third and final round of the event on Tuesday was canceled.
Brown was crowned champion on a 7-under-par 137 across 36 holes, while the UK women’s golf team finished runner-up with a 3-under 573.
While the final round was washed out, Brown was 2-under through nine holes, holding a four-shot lead at the top of the individual leaderboard.
The Wildcats won’t compete again for nearly a month. Their next tournament is at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational at Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, from Oct. 17-19.
